BRINGING TOGETHER BUSINESS, COMMUNITY AND GOVERNMENT

The Resource Forum has its origins in the North London Recycling Forum, which from 2001 promoted the issues of 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' and the aim of bringing together the Business, Community and Government sectors for awareness events and effective action.

In 2008 the NLRF developed into the Resource Forum, widening its scope to cover further environmental issues, initially on a pan-London basis. The launch event in November at the Royal Geographical Society featured 'The Food Cycle' as its agenda theme, with presentations among others from AEA Technology, Thornton Budgen, London Food Link, LondonWaste EcoPark and WRAP.

Within the meaning and concept of a forum, the Resource Forum acts as a meeting place - at workshops, seminars and exhibitions, through alliances and introductions, through networking and our Marketplace Plus promotion - highlighting the work, plans and achievements of those companies, organisations and individuals whose common goal is a sustainable future.

The Resource Forum welcomes ideas, participation and support from the Business, Community and Government sectors, covering resource and waste management, recycling, environmental management systems, energy, skills and training, and other major issues of resource husbandry in its widest sense.

Promotions and events for Spring / Summer 2010 include an introduction to the waste and recycling industry for schools' careers officers, a Waste by Water workshop and demonstation, and a Summer event for allotment holders and amateur gardners at the LondonWaste EcoPark.
